Help Please (Questions About Glucose, Plamids, Enzymes Etc)Hi everyone
I've been asked some questions in order to get a pass on my work. I have answered most of them (Although I guessed as I really don't have a clue!) but I'm really stuck on these so any help is much appreciated! Also Im sorry if this is in the wrong section but the questions are based on a visit to a hospital and it says medical so I put two and two together! 1. What is added to the fresh blood samples and why is it necessary? 2.What is the simple procedure required to obtain a cell-free plasma sample? 3.Why is blood- plasma storage temperature important? 4. which two enzymes are used in the automated assay of glucose? Thank you for any help!
1. what happens with blood, when you cut yourself? How does that happen? What do you have to add not to happen?
2. basically as above. how can you effectively separate something big from fluid? 3. why is the temperature important for proteins? 4. I would guess, that one of them uses glucose as substrate. I will help you that it's oxidoreductase (EC 1.*) The other uses the cofactor of the first enzyme to produce some color or something measurable... http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
Cis or trans? That's what matters.
