solvent which dissolve miconazole, in vivo experiment

Hi, there :P
I will do in vivo experiment using Miconazole, after searched information about miconazole, i found that miconazole is slight soluble in EtoH and water, although it has high soluble in DMSO, DMSO has toxic effect.
My model animal is mouse, I will use 25mg/ml Miconazole solution for in vivo experiment. Is there anyone who can recommend me some solvent?

the concentration doesn't matter, it's the volume, what matters. You can always use higher concentration (and thus smaller volume;).
What is the solubility in water and/or EtOH?

Of course, you should always use blank experiment, where you give your mouse only the solvent...

Cis or trans? That's what matters.

I nave not worked with miconazole. If you find that the miconazole is not soluble at 25mg/ml in water, then you might try this.

Add DMSO in tiny measured volumes to your sample in a glass vial, checking its dissolution between each addition. When the drug appears dissolved, check its dissolution with a laser pointer using the Tyndall effect (http://www.answers.com/topic/tyndall-effect). Put the same volume of DMSO into a second vial as a no-miconazole control. Add enough water to your first vial to reach your desired concentration of 25mg/ml; it is prudent to add the water in small measured aliquots, checking for formation of a suspended precipitate by the Tyndall effect; if a ppt. forms, add a bit more DMSO to each of the vials. Add the same volume of water to your no-miconazole control vial as you added to your miconazole vial.

You will end up with some DMSO in your injection, but less than injecting your miconazole in neat DMSO. You will control for the presence of the DMSO with the no-miconazole control injections.
