adaption of cell extraction technique

Hello all,

Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to rapidly extract/ detatch chondrocytes from the matrix with limited cellular damage? My intrest is to preserve the RNA for extraction and qPCR. So cell survival is not necissary as long as the cells will not have long enough to react to the extraction technique and the RNA is preserved.

I don't know, what does it look like, but what about to take them off with some knife or scalpel and put them immediately into liquid nitrogen?
