Human Spine Question

Postby Shadowfoot50 » Sat May 08, 2010 7:14 pm

Want to start by saying I am new here so Hello!

I hope this is in an ok section to put this it is Human Biology so I am guessing its ok!

So here gose

I have been studying Human Atonamy for a while now (seeking a Ceere in Medicine) and now I have come to the Spine so here it is.

This is what I think I true,

The Spine is made up of
The Spinal collumn 33 Vertebrae
The Vertebral Collumn 26 Bones
The Spine 36 Vertebrae
The Spinal Cord

So I think that is right so far I wanted to know, The Vertebral Collumn Protects the Spinal Cord within it? each Vertebrae within the Vertebral Collumn has discs beween them cushning the Spinal cord they are filled with Gelatinous Substance called the Nucleus Pulpsus. Serrounding this is the Annulus Fibrosus that keeps the Nucleus Pulpsus intact when forces are applied to the spinal cord. The discs also alow the Vertebra to be flexible and act as shock absorbers?

So I hope you can help out with is, I also hope you can make sence of it :D

Just one more question, I have a few pices of information that I am not 100% on is it aloud to post it to have it cheked or would I have to find other ways for that?

One last thing I am sorry for any bad spelling I am not correcting any as I am testing it

Thanks!
