What are these little guys?

Postby i_r_e_d » Thu Apr 22, 2010 1:50 pm

Hello all!! Okay, so this is what went down. I live in Socorro, NM (translates to "help from God") and there are a lot of cacti out here. I decided to bring one home with me and I began to water it. Then these three little fruit/flower/growths started growing. I have no idea what they are, can anyone help out?

Please ignore the rattlesnake tail, that's just there for effect. The circled things are the main focus here...

I think that are just new branches. Let it grow for a while and you will see ;) But as it seems to me to have thorns/spines (I don't know, how is it called in English), it probably won't be a flower

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
