Postby prokaryotics » Thu Apr 15, 2010 10:11 pm

Ok the reason why im posting this is because I seriously can only think of three ;

- Glycosylation
- Protein traffiking
- Synthesis of polysaccharides such as pectin and hemicellulose

I know few more:

-> It take part in the formation of lysosomes
- > It is essential for the maintenance of rapture plasma membranes and other cell organelle membrane..
-> In sperms it form acrosome which is essential for penetrating into ovum..
