You mean domestic water (hope this word is right)
Now I'm doing a small experiment about domestic water treatment by plant. I don't know the properties of water in your country (develope or devepoing...) but usually it contain high Nitrogen, Sulfure (from soap, powder..) phosphorous. And it seem good for our plant
In our school, they use waste water to irrigate trees, and I see nothing (still good develope)

If there are high contents of iron (like in my well water) then the plants suffer too.

Liquid waste? Are you talking about stuff from your septic tank?

probably that, or just mineral deposits and soap suds, etc.
