Hey everyone I need a little help asap! I'm doing a powerpoint presentation for my microbiology class and I need a wow factor on malaria for my last slide. Just something that a lot of people wouldn't know about the disease. My Prof. says it should make him say "wow, that's really interesting" so anything would be greatly appreciated.

i dont think the following has too much of the wow factor... but you can probably include it somewhere...

regarding HOW people with hetrozygous sickle cell anameia can be immune to malaria
that how is imporatant
it has basically to do with the change in struture of RBC and the malarian cant affect it...
talk about how the cells arent affected and if something of the sort can be done artificially (as in not to get the hetrozygosity, but the change in protien structure... or something)
