tiling arrayHello,
I am trying to understand the difference between DNA microarray and Tiling array and I don't succed. Can someone explain the tiling array? Thank you, Bogdan
Here is what I think to be the clearest part of the wiki article about this subject:
As for myself, I'm discovering all this.
Re: tiling arrayhello,
as I know, DNA microarray takes uses several probes ( known sequences that can be genes or not) and by hybridizing a target cDNA sequence we cand find out which genes were exprimed. (still need a confirmation about this: do we take the whole cDNA target and put it into every DNA microarray spot?) now, what's unclear to me is the Tiling array procedure. I understood we use more probes (300.000 up to 6 mil) tht cover all genome( maybe several times). what do I do next.. I try to hibridize all the cDNA seq? Thanks, Bogdan
