I need a scientific magazine

Postby ManBearPig89 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 1:35 am

Hi!

for many years my family have been subscribing for this science magazine. Overall it's a good magazine describing science and new theories. I guess it's kinda layman- ish, and as i have started my studies in biology i want something... Not so layman- ish 8)

I live outside US/UK, so i don't know so much about good/bad international magazines, any sugestions?

thanks!

I agree with Mith. For another step up from Scientific American, without getting into journals that publish original research, I'd suggest American Scientist. That is the magazine produced by Sigma Xi, the scientific research society, and they are not afraid to put a little mathematics into the articles (generally you won't find more than one equation in a Scientific American article).

Thanks!

Will consider both mags.

Any magazine out there consentrating mainly on biology? I don't think I would have much use of a magazine explaining the latest worm- hole- theory with alot of complicated equations
