can anyone help with a mosquito borne infectionhi folks, can any one help re this question,
if you are in the Solimoes, and dont have mosquito nets etc, and you are miles from habitation. What mosquito borne viral disease endemic in Brasil are you almost guaranteed not to get and why.
Re: can anyone help with a mosquito borne infectionI know the answer but I am not telling you as you are cheating on a quiz. Please, no-one answer this pathetic individual. I will answer here after 2359 GMT today.
Re: can anyone help with a mosquito borne infectionThe answer is Dengue fever. The primary vector of Dengue is Aedies Egyptii (sp). This is an urban insect requiring still, predator free water as found in old tyres, plant pots, water barrels etc hence urban not rural. The dengue virus requires a large concentrated human population in order to replicate. So while in the Brasilian metrpolii Dengue is common , in the further reaches of the Solimoes it is extremly rare.
