Preserving organic matter

Postby KatieBird » Wed Dec 30, 2009 4:47 pm

I am trying to embed slices of fruit/vegetables in crystal resin. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of preserving the fruit/vegetables so that they remain in perfect condition once in the resin? Thank you so much.

don't you have to dry it first?

I would also think it would need to be dry for the resin to even bind to it.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have tried drying - but the fruit shrivels and is therefore not satisfactory. I left a message on a Chemistry Forum and they advised me to put into citric acid and then apply a sugar solution. I will try this. Fingers crossed. Katie
