HELP!Alright, so I was given this prompt to write a one-page essay on the topic. The essay is due in march of 2010 or so, but the essay's got to be GENIUS.
Of course, I've done some research, such as location, reproduction, etc., but I still need some professional opinions on my topic. Here's my prompt: "Explain where the mass for 50 year old Pinus Strobus (Eastern White Pine) would come from, considering it was once a naked seed laying on the forest floor. Be sure to formulate a succinct response that explains accurately how the mass has been attained, from macro to molecular level." Any information/suggestions to my essay would be highly appreciated. ~ Thanks!
I believe I mentioned that earlier. All I've got so far are the general information: location, growth, etc. I'm unsure of any molecular activity that can go on with the White Pine, though...
Re: HELP!I think the prompt is using white pine as a specific example, but the actual answer is just metabolism of plants

Think carbon metabolized into wood then make the wood Pinus strobus. Then thinly slice said wood, varnish and apply to my floor.
hint: we plant trees to clean up the air from greenhouse gases
