Help needed with a few DNA questions. Please.I really need help with these questions, so any help will be appreciated.
1.Match each codon with the anticodon with which it will pair.? 1.GGU 2.CGC 3.AUG 4.UCG 5.AAA 6.CUG A. AGC B. CCA C. GCG D. GAC E. UAC F. UUU 2.The DNA reading strand from which the messenger RNA in your protein synthesis activity was transcribed began: CCA|TAG|CAA|CTT|CTC|ACA... If the first cytosine nucleotide in the DNA reading strand was changed to adenine, which of the following would be the most likely consequence? A.This would cause no change from the normal protein; it's a silent mutation. B.Translation would terminate at this point in the amino acid chain; the resulting molecule would probably be non-functional. C.A different amino acid would be substituted for the amino acid present in the normal protein. D.Most of the remainder of the protein would consist of different amino acids than the normal protein; the resulting molecule would probably be non-functional. 3.If the first guanine nucleotide in the DNA reading strand was changed to adenine, which of the following would be the most likely consequence? A.Translation would terminate at this point in the amino acid chain; the resulting molecule would probably be non-functional. B.Most of the remainder of the protein would consist of different amino acids than the normal protein; the resulting molecule would probably be non-functional. C.This would cause no change from the normal protein; it's a silent mutation. D.A different amino acid would be substituted for the amino acid present in the normal protein. 4.The DNA reading strand from which the messenger RNA in your protein synthesis activity was transcribed began: CCA|TAG|CAA|CTT|CTC|ACA... If the first guanine nucleotide in the DNA reading strand was deleted, which of the following would be the most likely consequence? A.Translation would terminate at this point in the amino acid chain; the resulting molecule would probably be non-functional. B.This would cause no change from the normal protein; it's a silent mutation. C.Most of the remainder of the protein would consist of different amino acids than the normal protein; the resulting molecule would probably be non-functional. D.A different amino acid would be substituted for the amino acid present in the normal protein.
1. just change A to U, U to A, C to G and G to C and write it in opposite direction, is that such a big problem?
2. 3. http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=genetic+code you will see also some pictures, pick one, which fits best for you and look for what codes each triplet before and after the mutation. Is that SO hard? 4. now, this is a little interesting. You just shift the reading frame by one, sou will read it as CCA|TAC|AAC|TTC|TCAC|A so, guess, what will happen? http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
Cis or trans? That's what matters.
