What kind of detox do u mean? Drug detox? Alcohol detox? Metabolic detox?

Basically, metabolism of xenobiotics has two phases
1) oxidation, usually done different CYPs
2) conjugation to different substances, this is done by some transferases
both steps should lead to increased polarity and thus solubility in water (=blood=urine)

Cis or trans? That's what matters.

The conjugation can take place with UDP-glucuronate, PAPS to form sulphate, alkylation by S-adenosylmethionine or acylation by acetyl-CoA, conjugation with amino acids (Gly, Gln) or with GSH etc.

Alcohol is oxidised to acetaldehyde and than probably to acetyl-CoA.
Drugs are like hundreds of types, so you must specify or read my previous posts ;)
