Major for a Job Regarding Coral Reefs

Postby mtop » Wed Oct 21, 2009 11:41 pm

Hi, im sorry if this has already been posted, but I couldn't find any posts with a similar situation. i have 2 more yrs to graduate from Purdue University which is in the center of the states, so there is no marine biology program. I was hoping to eventually find a job involving the preservation and restoration of the coral reefs we have now. I was wondering what the best major would be for this option. I'm currently just general bio and was hoping to make it more specific since I've heard that's better when approaching the job market. The other majors I was considering were "ecology, evolution, and environmental biology" or microbiology. Any insight would be great, especially concerning after college.
