OD and bacterial cell number

what is the relationship between the OD of the cell suspension and cell number, if i need 10 to the power 6 number of cell per ml than what should be the OD for that, is their any formula for that

Yes , usually, but it varies with the organism. Usually you will run a culture and calibrate that way.

yes it depends on type of cell for example E.coli than how to go for it , i need a formula for that

Measure OD
plate appropriate dilution in triplicates and incubate
Count
Divide OD by cell number: here you are.

I think you can get the formula by counting.
you should select different concentration culture by dilution, measure the OD each of them,then plate each of them ,and count them.in this ,you can get a equation.
