Cellular Banking or white collar Crime ??With the recent advances in the field of stem cell banking , and with most international banks cryopreserving the haematopoeitic stem cells for 21 years . Can anyone please tell if there is substantial amount of documentation that proves that the cells remains viable even if the cryoprotectant like hespan is added. Liquid nitrogen will definitely cease the biological activity of the cell but will it NOT hamper the viability ? Or the commercial banks minting money by claiming high on viability are mere white collar criminals ......
Re: Cellular Banking or white collar Crime ??i dont know about the 21 years, why such number, did the marketing department come up with that? You are right that freezing for such lo long time will diminish viability. I can only assume that they will take a lot of it. However just to get you some idea to think about, sperm banks do pretty much the same in terms of storage, and it still functions after all these years.
But this was a good idea, these businesses are really smart, this and also that whole analyze your MHC compatibility for dating sites.
