Just a quick question as this has me stumped, I am painting a car out the back of my property and of course this type of job requires masking tape, I would love to know why the Australian native (stingless) bees are so attracted to the residue left behind after removing the tape? they are so drawn to it even when the tape is on the body they are trying to get underneath it ? the genus i am referring to is definitely trigona one of the many different species here in Australia, why are they so attracted to this "gum" cellulose?, some sort of sugar in the adhesive? I am very interested as to know why?

Tnx
