Special heart muscleI read that heart's mucle is special...formed in cylinder but work without order from us. is it the only reason why this muscle is special??I think that there's another differences again..since we found that heart's muscle contains many nucleus as our cylindric muscles compared to our autonome muscle that only has one nucleus per cells..
Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Re: Special heart muscleI don't think that's the only reason why cardiac muscles are special ...here are some of it's features that might help youi.
Microscopic anatomy: * Short fat branching cells *One large central nucleus per cell *Intercalated discs * Myofibril-like units *High capillary density *Large no. of mitochondria *Large sarcoplasmic reticulum & T.Tubule system Functions: * Drives O2, glucose, amino acids, vitamins, drugs & water to tissues * Washout of wastes (CO2, urea) * Maintains pressure & flow *Responds to internal \external change *Control via hormones *Delivery of heat Physiology: *Neuromuscular activity *Mechanism of contraction - Cross bridge cycling - Excitation-contraction coupling & the calcium cycle *Action potential of a work cell Hope this helps "The roots of education is bitter, but the fruit is sweet" Aristotle
