what is the meaning of Chlorophyll a/ chorophyll b ratio in

hi, could anyone tell me the physiological meaning of the ratio of Chlorophyll a/ Chlorophyll b in green algae?

Is there a normal range for this ratio or for the chlorophyll content in green algae?

i don't know what the numerical value is for any particular organism, but it has to do with growing in low light. If the plant grows in very low light, it will accumulate more clorophyll b to capture more light, so the ration will decrease.
