Fungus?Hey...what's the differences between decomposer and detritivore?? and is fungus classified into detritivores or decomposers?
Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Yesss...I get the correct answer..because this morning I got confused to choose:
-Eagles are the 3rd level consumers -Fungus as detritivors At that time I think that eagles are 4th level consumers so, it confused me.... cyanophyta-insects-amphibies-snakes-eagles-------that's what I think..(see, eagles are the 4th one..)..thanks Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
The detritivores break the stuff down into fecal matter...the decomposers actually reduce them to simple compounds.
So the answer might have been: fungus-decomposer Living one day at a time;

I thougt it like that too...but, at that time I still got confused betwen decomposers and detritivors. as long as I know, detritivors are usually bacterias..is it like that??oh, how about the eagle one?is it true?
Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?

The eagle is 4th level consumer in that chain.
Detritivor organisms are organisms that feed on dead organic substance(detritus). their residue is organic. they are mostly animals from what i know. Decomposers break stuff down to mineral substances. They are mostly bacteria Hope i am not wrong "As a biologist, I firmly believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Except for what you live behind in history. That's the only afterlife" - J. Craig Venter
@Andrew
Don't look at that chain..it's only exmple..but actuallyeagle can be at the 3rd level or the 4th... Hey, about the decomposers and detritivors..I think you've meda it upside down...My bio teacher said that decomposers are animals who feed on the dead things and detritivors are microorganisms which breakdown mineral substances to provide organic substances... Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Check our dictionary
detritivore- Animal that consumes decomposing organic particles, deriving nutrition primarily from microbes on the particles. And of course a decomposer is a dead musician Living one day at a time;
