Western Blot from an Agarose gel...?Hello all,
i made a 4% agarose gel for protein separation using 1x tgs buffer. I was wondering if it would be pointless (or even detrimental) to perform a Western blot on the same gel, just to visualize it better. help? Thanks
I've never heard of anyone running proteins through an agarose gel before (why are you doing it btw?). There isn't any mechanistic aspect to blotting the gel (except maybe that it is too thick to fit into a western transfer machine), but I think you would have a very hard time figuring out the right parameters (current, voltage, time) at which to transfer it.
