Micelle

Dear friends,

I am pretty new to micelle biology and have some...maybe dumb questions.
So, are there any easy ways to manufacture micelles with standard laboratory equipment? I think, if the technique is established, it shouldn't be a problem to insert some special gangliosides into the membrane, right? And third, is there a way to let them not fuse with eucaryotic cell membranes in micelle-lymphocyte co-cultures?

No you need specialized equipment, last I heard one of the labs on campus was using a layer of lipids and then pushing thru the layer perpendicularly to create the micelles. Unfortunately it's a work in progress i.e. no details being divulged.

Well I'm pretty sure that you can do it, though probably not with standard equipment. However, i do remember reading a paper a while back that showed bilayers can grow in vitro by accumulating micelles. So I guess you could just look up that kind of paper and then go crazy with the methods section.
