Developing therapies, microbe tools for fuel production, GMO food for hunger alliviation, predicting illnesses based on genetic make up, enhance human genome.

Cons:
Developing harmful organisms, animals, human beings.

Do you mean what are the pros and cons of genetics and genetic research in general? Or being a part of the genetics and genetics research field?

And anyway, asking what the pros and cons of genetics are is a moot point because genetics are what they are; there is no question about it. It's the field that you can ask about, and you do that by asking about genetic research.
