unknown bacteria

Hello,
I need help with an unknown bacteria and I am running out of resources. If anyone has the expertise or the time I would greatly appreciate any input. I have a gram neg rod shaped bacteria that is motile and facultatively anaerobic. It performs well at 37 C I have + results for acid and gas with Glucose, Sucrose, Lactose, and maltose. I have a + for citrate utilization and catalase. Negative on gelatin hydrolysis, cysteine digestion, tryptophan digestion, and urea. I think I may have it narrowed down but I am hitting some walls. Any ideas? John

use an API-20E strip, it should give the must prob

Through the various tests that were ran in lab, we were able to discern quite a few things about our unknown. The first of which was that it is gram positive, since it was purple after the gram staining. This was supported further by the lack of growth on the EMB plate. It did, however, grow on the MSA plate, which indicates that it can grow in high salt concentrations. Furthermore, it ferments mannitol, since the color of the MSA agar changed. The unknown bacteria was also cocci-shaped and formed clusters.

Ifthis will not help if you use something for enterobacteriaceae with a Gram positive...
