Wildlife biologyI am 15 years old and really want to be a wildlife biologist. What jobs and/or places to volunteer in washington state could I do that enables me to field work? Also I have been trying to find colleges with a wildlife biology major do you know of any good colleges with that major?
Thanks, bribri2200
USFWS, BLM, FS are federal agencies you could try to volunteer with, or at least do a job-shadow at.
I don't know what the names of the WA state agencies are, but look them up too. There are tons of not-for-profits that address wildlife in one form or another. I think most organizations would be thrilled to have a 15 year old kid interested in what they do. Just start calling and making connections. What did the parasitic Candiru fish say when it finally found a host? - - "Urethra!!"
I agree with Astus on this one. Volunteer work would be a great way to get started. Search your city for volunteer agencies. For example; here in my city we have Volunteer San Diego with many openings for volunteers in all forms of nature protection.
Re: Wildlife biologywell since you live in WA, WSU has a good wildlife biology program
Re: Wildlife biologyHow do you get grants for a wildlife sanctuary? I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me. I am a wildlife researcher and I am looking to start up a wildlife sanctuary devoted to wild canines. I have been to several sites but I am having no luck finding out how to get grants. Any information would be appreciated. And do we need a 5013c to get it started?
