threads missing from off-topic forum?

Postby AstusAleator » Fri May 29, 2009 6:47 am

Hey guys,
One of my favorite off-topic threads, member quotes, (far more useful and fun than the last-reply thread) is missing... Along with tons of other older off-topic threads. What's the deal? I understand if there's a need to save space - but could you at least keep a classic like member quotes around?

I have no idea, don't believe we're pruning, maybe the search function just sucks more now?

Maybe whatever software runs this forum automatically deletes threads after they're left untouched for a certain period of time.
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

@alex

I honestly don't think that's the case

apparently what happened is a function was installed (why, I have no clue, nobody asked me) that deleted everything in the off-topic that had been inactive for more than 60 days. We have asked if there is any sort of backup, and will let you know as we have an answer
