How many H+ are necessary to drive the synthesis on ONE ATP?does anyone know?
Re: How many H+ are necessary to drive the synthesis on ONE ATP?Hi,
The current evidence suggests 3 H+ are require to synthesise 1 ATP molecule. One H+ moves the ATP sythase one conformation between open, loose, tight etc. So therefore 3 H+ are requireed for one full cyle and thus production of 1 ATP. Hope this makes sense, Harvey
