Primers for HLA typingHello,
for HLA typing you can use sequence specific primers from Invitrogen or any other company. But the sequence of these primers is a "business secret" therefore you have to order the whole kit if you want them. I do not need the official kit because my HLA typing is not for clinical or diagnostics purposes, but just for research. Is it possible to get the sequence of these primers by sequencing or something similar? After I would have the sequence I would just order these primers by myself. I really need these primers in bulk. Thanks for the help, regards, Marco
Look up the gene you want in genebank (on the NCBI website) and order the complete opposite sequence just flanking the region you want to amplify. Alternatively you can paste the sequence into the program Vector NTI, which basically does the same thing.
