What do you suppose to do when you were new to the lab?

I felt awfully bad today. My boss told me, the other people around the lab complain about me, because I asked too many questions from them. Here is the thing, I'm a new comer to the lab, and know nothing around here, if I'm not going to ask, there might be a big mistake happen. So, I ask, people get mad at me, I don't ask, they still get mad at me. Everytime before I ask them, I aways say:"Do you have any time for me?" ...I really don't know what to do.
Any one have any suggestions?

If possible, don't ask co-workers if they seem the unhelpful sort. But if choosing between screw-up and asking, do ask. Might also be time to bone up on your protocols.
