Why is it that with maternal age increasing, the chances of having a DOWN SYNDROME child will increase as well

1/900 births -- age 30
1/350 births -- age 35
1/100 births -- age 40+

as well why is it that majority of the children who have down syndrome today have mothers who are early aged?

This is a widespread claim but it can't account for everything. If we say that the "good eggs" go out first and by the time the woman gets to age 35 they have all been lost, women who used the pill for many years should have a lower risk. The pill prevents ovulation thus the good eggs are not lost, and are saved for later.
