The Menstrual Cycle, Question

I have to do a report on the menstrual cycle and I have a question: I didnt really understand, if this luteinizing hormone is produced by the pituitary gland or by the hypothalamus? Maybe somebody knows ..

LH is produced in anterior pituitary, under the hypotalamus :)
