are box turtles social?

Postby mattw » Fri Jan 02, 2009 2:34 am

I'm thinking about moving our school pet, which is an Eastern Box Tortoise, to place where he will be with several of his own kind (at a local institution called "The Nature Center").
Will this do him any good, or would it be just as nice to him to leave him alone in his cage?
Thanks,
Matt

Anyone who attempts to answer this is full of crap. Who could really say what Mr. Turtle wants. Maybe Sigmund Box the turtle shrink :)

I think any animal living in a natural place really suited for it will be more happy.

I agree, any turtle (and any animal in general) will be more happy in a more natural environment suited for it. I think you would be making the right decision. Good luck.

The Turtle will most likely feel at home with contact with its own species and Environment.

Good luck,
