proteins found in the cell membrane. What are the three proteins found in the cell mebranes, and what is the function of each?
Thanks
i need some help.alright i read my notes my teacher gave and can't find it anywhere with the internet
1.why are spindle fibers important 2.sister chromatids and centromeres make up what 3.what phase follows telophase (i think it's cytokinesis) 4.what effect on the cell would there be if the s phase is not functioning properly 5.compare cytokinesis in an animal cell and a plant cell 6.compare cell division in a prokaryote and a eukaryote and that's all the ones i have thank you : )
Re: proteins found in the cell membrane.there are actually five proteins throughout the cell membrane:
1. carrier proteins- bind w/ molecules and carry them across the cell membrane (in/out of membrane) 2.glycoproteins- have sugars attached to them 3.channel proteins- allow molecules to pass freely through membrane 4.receptor proteins- bind w/ proteins on surface of cell to influence its metabolic rate 5.enzyme proteins- help carry out metabolic reactions in cell
Re: proteins found in the cell membrane.I was always taught there are 6 fundamental membrane proteins.
1. Carrier proteins (Facilitative, active, aquaporins etc) 2. Enzyme proteins (Integral and peripheral) 3. Signal transduction proteins (hormone reception, coat proteins?) 4. Cell recognition (Here's your glycoproteins) 5. Intercellular joining (Your junction proteins) 6. Attachment to the Extracellular matrix and cytoskeleton. (All your stabilizing proteins, microfilaments, intermediate, and microtubules.) *scratches head* Transport, signal, and stabilizers?
