Growing human organs?

Hello guys

I am just a newbie wanting to satisfy my curiosity. I was thinking lately, what is it that prevents a modern medicine to grow human organs when necessary?
I mean they already grow some cloned chiken meat in USA to eat as a food. So is it any more difficult to grow lets say a kidney or a liver for example? I don't think I heard about anything like that... But isn't it possible with the modern medicine?
Just imagine how cool would it be to grow and replace some aging organ of yours when you are getting old.

Cloned chicken meat is not what you think, if I am thinking what I suspect you are thinking. The meat is not grown in a petri dish from some other meat tissues as I suspect this is what you envision. Rather a chicken with desirable traits has its DNA extracted. This DNA is then transferred to female chickens embryo. This embryo is then placed back into a female chicken for growth.

Science is not yet ready to produce organs as you are thinking. I do believe work in this area is in progress, and I remember hearing about skin tissue being grown, but still far off from making a heart or such...

Anyone can have a baby, but it takes a parent to raise a child.

It's like that for organs, for one there's a host of chemical signals that tell the cells how to act and mechanical tranductions are especially important for components that are under stress like blood vessels or bone. So no, it's a lot harder to make a functional and organized group of cells like tissue than just a bunch of meat proteins.

Sorry, it is a bit late, but thank you very much guys for the answers, it really made me see me why we can't grow human organs yet.
Hopefully someday humanity will learn how to do it. It would be nice to live 200, 300 or even more hundreds of years:)))) It could very much be possible with the organ replacement.

It could be a bad thing though as humans may then exceed the carrying capacity of the ecosystem. More peeps than resources...

People usually don't die of old age, they die of things like arteriosclerosis because they live badly or things like starvation and malnutrition which organ transplants don't even begin to solve.
