PCR Elisa and PCR SSCP

I found it's very difficult to do PCR Elisa and PCR-SSCP. Here are some protocols of PCR variants I found. http://pcrworld.blogspot.com/

The PCR-SSCP has been using to probe point mutation, but there are not a lot of publications I can refer. I wonder if there is a method to enhance the signal because the bands are sometimes too weak to tell the results.
