hmm.. i wouldnt say so.. but you dont have to be bitten to know it
N.B the venom released in a taipan bit can possibly kill about 170 humans.

I think, it's also according to some groups of scientists about the toxicity level of snakes...Taipan (inland) is very venomous but, it can't bite human so easily because Taipan (Oxyuranus sp.) have Ophistoglypha type venom canine....(venom canine located at the back of the other teeth).

it's a type of poison canine in poisonous snakes. There're three of them:
Proteroglypha: placed in the front (Ophiophagus hannah).
Ophistoglypha: placed at the back (Oxyuranus microlepidotus).
Solenoglypha: placed in front but can be folded (Viper)

Hi there,
The MOST posoinous snake in the word (not based on being most fearsome, aggressive, amount of deaths, amount of venom injected) is DROP for Drop, the venom of the South African Boomslang (Dispholidus typus).
Don't know of any deaths as it is arborial and extremely shy. Has thankfully very small fangs placed very far back in its mouth. But from a bite, you will die. It's poison is the most concentrated of that of all snakes in the world. Very quickly your symptoms will resemble that of advanced Ebola virus. Collapse is imminent very quickly.

Characteristics: Will strike if molested. Its venom is hemotoxic. ..."small amounts cause severe hemorrhaging, making it dangerous to man".

I knew this as a fact since I was a child as they were prolific in the Eastern Cape. The Taipans (both) have nothing on it. Neither the Bushmaster or, alas the Mamba. The snake responsible for most deaths in Africa is the Puff Adder. Lazy fat old thing (totally camouflaged) but it strikes like likening and MANY people get bitten. Only after the Mamba with is HUGE amount of venom at a time. come the cobra's. Come to think of it, we really have dangerous snakes roaming down here.

But still, it IS the Boomslang.

I promise you, it's the Boomslang. Have you seen the Mamba? We see it - it is actually huge = very long. We have a green Mamba as well, which is of enormous value to scientists as it has around 23 different types of venom all in one. But people are rarely killed by it.
Black mamba pushes a HUGE amount of neurotoxin into you. So it IS the most dangerous (actually it is a known fact that the puff adder is the most dangerous as Africans tend to walk barefoot with huge bulky boxes on their heads, hence the hazard. A horrible bite. Gangrene follows, Ive seen the total destruction on a limb.
There was a discussion on radio not long ago and no-one mentioned the shy boomslang (as to the most poisonous) - when I phoned in the sccientists concurred that it carries the most toxic venom of all, but that it posed very little danger to man as it will quickly disappear and blend in with its tree of choice. A beautiful snake.
Here where we stay on a smallholding south of JOhannesburg, there is a prolification of RINKHALS - it drives me round the bend. Also a cobra. It will spit accurately (and a lot of spit) - it's black and has as white rings in the front of it's neck just below the hood. SO many dogs die from this damn snake. My Staffordshire got spitten in the eyes and almost died. We splashed 4 litres of milk into his eyes and I administred 35 mg of prednisone. My husband said finding a vet would take too long and Staffie wasn't bitten. Apparently we did the right thing. He had breathing difficulties and my husband did a bit of CPR on him. I guess we worked quickly enough so that in the end very little poison reached his system, would love to know if I did good by giving him the Prednisone? He also had an allergic reaction - huge hives afterwards, so I guess that must've helped some. This snake's presence here, spoils a lot for us. It's nocturnal so night walks are OUT!

Well if you say sea snakes - yes, but then you have to go further to the box jellifish etc. Oh Lord, I'm not putting a foot outside the house again, BUT, woe is me, we have great big spiders inside, not to mention the ruddy African BLack widow.

Its not only how poisonous it is
its also that the venom kills very quickly.
only 2 drops of venom can kill a person and
it has 20 drops in its fangs.
