Counting spirochetes

Hi folks,
I'm growing spirochetes (Borrelia) in liquid media and need to enumerate them. I'm looking for a procedure that uses a regular hemocytometer (not a darkfield one) or other affordable method. Can anyone help? Thanks very much.
