Lytic and Lysogenic cycles

I've been reading and I know lytic cycleis a viral reproduction and lysogenic cycle is a virus reproduction. I'm very confused with understanding these cycles and their viruses utilizes each strategy. The more I read the more I get both cycles confused. How do both of these cycles and their viruses utilize each strategy and what is a simple way for me to learn the difference between these cycles? Thanks so very much!

fundamental difference:

lytic cycle: infection with viral DNA leads directly to replication of the virus and subsequently to lysis of the bacterial cell

lysogenic cycle: infection with viral DNA leads to replication of a prophage (a molecule of DNA )in the chromosome of the bacterial cell. The prophage is inactive, non-infective, but it will replicate each time the DNA in chromosome is replicated during cell divisions.

it is possible that the prophage to get cleaved from host DNA, and cause the cell to enter lytic cycle.
