Stupid and Easy questionHey guys.. So I am doing Biology 12U through ILC, which is a coorespondence company. The entire course has been set up horribly, where they basically do 20 pages of writing (no textbook), with a couple of pictures, and then ask two questions at the end of each lesson. However, the information for the questions is never given in the book, so I always have to hunt on the internet for it.
This question is probably very easy, butt, I can't find anything on google for it! The question: Give two examples of molecules that include both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups.(2 Marks) How do the different parts of these molecules behave differently in water and what implication does this have in a cellular environment? (2 marks) And then I need to include two hand-drawn diagrams for 2 more marks. The obvious one is phospholipids, I have already written about them. What is another one though? Oil and water seperate, there must be something going on there.. Uhmmm, I was reading some article on methanol? Is there another obvious molecule I am missing. Like I said, nothing is given in the book, and my google searches are fruitless.
