sorbitol pathway

is any palnt biochemist is arround
i have one doubt, that in my reseaarch i find the involvement of aldose reductase in sorbitol pathway(conversion of glucose to sorbital). here to confirm this pathway, i want to estimate the total sorbitol content in my palnt system. if any one know the procedure for the estimation of sorbitol please let me know.
