Question about crayfishAs you all know crayfish undergo a process known as molting. The crayfish's esophagus and intestine is lined with an exoskeleton of chitin; however the stomach is lined only with endoderm. Would this cause a problem during the organism's molting? If so, what?
I thought the exoskeleton covers the entire animal?

Same as insects, their breathing system of trachea is lined with exoskeleton, so that sheds as well. (Do you think that would itch?)
