There are some daunting technical obstacles to overcome for this project to be successful. Given that the project will be carried out by multiple laboratories around the world, there needs to be a serious attempt at standardising the protocols used to extract and characterise proteins.

This will be the biggest hurdle I think. Cool link, thanks Mith.
