EntropyThis is a simple question about entropy (which is very important concept in understanding life)
I have learned that when molecules split and mole number increases the entropy of the system also increases. It is explained by saying that - when a molecule is splited to smaller molecules it decreases order in the system (they used the example of gas enclosed in a cylinder and their random motion). I don't know what is the measure of disorder, it seems a bit abstract to me. Though I understand that molecules are like packets of atoms; the larger the molecule the greater the orderliness. But it doesn't seem measurable. But we know that entropy is a measurable physical quantity- which is measured using the equation S=Q/T Can you explain the increase in entropy in the mentioned case using the equation provided?
There is ordered energy holding a molecule together - separate the molecule into bits, and that energy (if not partially captured and used) just becomes random heat, and the disorder in the system increases in either case.
Re: EntropyEntropy is not disorderliness. It is the measure of how thermal energy can spread or shared into available microstates of the system. It shows in how many ways the thermal energy can be spreaded in the system. It means dilution of thermal energy.
change in S is Q/T, there is no actual S for any one particle, it's a group phenomenon which makes sense because it's a measure of different configurations available to a system.

Re: EntropyEntropy Theory is an extremely wrong one.
Disorderness cannot be measured by entropy. Orderness of system has nothing to do with entropy. Order can be raised in a closed system.
Re: EntropyI suggest you read the book was written by Chinese Ecologist Wang Zhaoqiang: Order and Entropy_Scientific Puzzlement of 100 years.
I have read its original Chinese version. However, I don't know whether it was already translated into English. The main idea of the book as follows: Order is created by order factor, not by fluctuation; Entropy is a wrong theory. Orderness has nothing to do with entropy. entropy is an accepted definition. if you do not agree with the definition, you're arguing about something else, however we would not call it entropy.

dS=dQ/T dQ represents changed amount of heat energy in a very very short time; T represents the temperature of system in a instant; dS represents changed amount of entropy in that short time. It is as though changed amount of mass of a glass of water (dm) has nothing to do with height of water (h) in that instant. What about if we construct a new function________ dB=dm/h Can the function dB make any sense? So dS as well as S (entropy) have not any meaning. Therefor the conclusion is : Entropy is a wrong function! Please do not waste your time with the meaningless function.

Re: EntropyAny scientific hypothesis and theory should go through rigorous testing and proofing.If the entropy is a correct theory in your opinion, please give me some convincing proof.
