Why Alzheimer's happen?

Postby wheel on Thu Feb 14, 2008 4:33 pm

Why Alzheimer's disease happen? I suppose there are many reasons to that. I studied that it is because the lack of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain. The other reason is genetic factor. Does this mean there are/is gene(s) that will give rise to Alzheimer's disease in our body cells?
Great thinking, great effort and great spirit produce great work ----- and a great man is born.

I hope not. My mother had Parkinsons and Alzheimers. She got the Parkinsons first, so I do not know if the two were related.

well you have the correct reason, as you stated but if the gene(alzheimer's) is passed onto you then you have a 50% chance on getting it :[
