Where is Alex?Moderator: BioTeam I made 5000 posts? I hadn't noticed.
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

Re: Where is Alex?5000 posts, for Alex has been on as much for the past years.

I joined this site in December of 2005, so yes I've been around for a while.

Still lagging behind me alex. Keep trying.

I'm slowly catching up. My time away when I was focusing on spiritual development didn't help though. Neither did the fact that posts in the off-topic no longer count towards my total. I tell you it's a conspiracy!!!

We are thinking of implementing something like a "biology index" that will only count your posts in the on-topic sections, so that it may be used as an index of usefulness count instead of the post count. If that passes, we might consider counting posts in off-topic again.
The other option would be to delete all off-topic posts from the records of everyone's post count, thereby turning the post count into a brute index of someone's contribution to the forum. It is still being debated though. "I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
Yikes! If off-topic posts no longer count, that would set me back a ton!

Re:
No in fact I would prefer a point system, but we have to find a meaningfull way to award them. Patrick

Didn't we have that with the bio-points at one time?

Yep but since there was no definition of what they were, no rule on how to award them and no consensus on how to "use them" they disappeared...
I agree that if a point system was started some important questions need be addressed: - who can give points? - for what? - how often? so that they would actually be meaningful, and not just an ego boosting/cliquey thing. Patrick
