Of White Tigers and Lions

Kinda linking this topic to Inuyasha's about Tigons and Ligers. Are white tigers and lions some sort of hybrids too? Are there some kind of genetic mutations? Or are they simply put, in their own group? Also, are there any other types of "whities" out there?

Don't quote me on this, but I think white lions are the produce of just rare genes. Kind of like red hair in humans.

Are you sure there are such things as a white lion. I mean white tigers amke sense because it would benefit them if they lived in cold areas. But white lions. Can any one post a picture please.

Yes, Inuyasha, I am pretty sure that there are white lions out there. If there are rare genes coding for whiteness for tigers, then why not for white lions? I think that the Las Vegas performing couple Siegfried and Roy have a white lion. Here's some information on white lions, I was looking through some sites during my Christmas break.

White tigers are obviously hybrids, they're white-coloured Bengals and not a separate subspecies as many people think... they may occur if a zoo chooses to mate a white Bengal with a tiger from another subspecies; this then produces a white hybrid tiger.
