phagocytes actually rely in the abundance of lysosome to lyse pathogens cells also use lysosome to degrade and overhaul their organelles to ensure they function on its optimum level perhaps thats what their medical functions are... I read in a study, years back, that a healthy individual have abundant lysosomes in their cells lack or insuficient nutrient intake that supports production of this organelle and its content leads to susceptibility of an organism to deseases
