Use your computer power while its idle to help medical research. A distributed computer program to study protein folding. More info on website. Anyone use it? Installing it now and you can set up a team. Was going to set up Biology-Online.org. But thought I better check with everyone on here. Would be fun. Im going to run it now and i'll tell if you if its any good.
Yes. It's good. I've been doing it for a while. It's not disruptive and just sits in the taskbar and does its work. Biology-online should have a team. I would definitely join.
Get to folding!
Download the program from here and install it. Make sure to use our team number above.
Cool. I've joined. Same username.
Its good. Makes a great screensaver. This is my first project http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/allprojects#2000. p2002. (at the very bottom). Its to do with the Alzheimer's peptide, thought to be responsible for nerve cell death in Alzheimer's Disease. Exciting stuff Not sure when I will finish my first work unit as its quite big What is everyone else working on?
I'm folding a collagen protein.
I never knew that. I guess you learn something new everyday. I have folding@home running on a 2.1 GHz and a 750 MHz (
This is awesome!! I'm doing p1146_L939_WT Tinker Core. I have no idea what that is, but i'm sure it's useful. lol

p means project so just go to here http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/allprojects#2000 And find your number. So mithrillhack if yours is p2003 its the one after mine. p1146 - exploring the fleeting yet critical transition state region for transitions present for L939, the 39 residue fragment from the N terminal domain of ribosomal protein L9. Must be important in ribosomes.
Ok. I don't think I am clever enough to understand this stuff.
